Fat Man Scoop Leeds

R.I.P. Fat Man Scoop

It was a sad day to hear the news of Isaac Freeman III aka @fatmanscoop passing away on stage at an event in the US. The world lost another music legend but his energy will live on 🕊️

I was fortunate to have been Scoops driver and tour photographer back in 2008-2009 with a good friend who was his UK tour manager, Joe Wickes.

A memory that always makes me laugh was ordering 3 double Bic Mac’s with extra lettuce and cheese with no beef patty as he was a veggie 🤣

I was recently pulling some old images together over the last few weeks and came across these snaps in the archives.

Funtimes – the shots with the green backgrounds were in Shepherds Bush Radio 1 studios where he was recording some sound clips.

The hero image if I remember correctly was Kensington Roof Gardens and the landscape blue photo was up in Leeds.

Scoop was a true professional and one of the most humble and knowledgeable humans I’ve ever met. His presence in a room was incredible and looking back now I realise how much I learned from him about the industry and life in such a short space of time.

The legend will live on through the energy he brought to everything he did and his music. Thoughts are with his friends, family and all of those who have memories with his music as the backdrop.
