Understanding creators

What lies beneath

I fell into fashion after walking into an opportunity at photography college, which led me to land an interview at the London College of Fashion.

Since I didn’t have a portfolio or anything remotely fashion-related, I had to hustle something together fast. Thankfully, our local area was buzzing with people getting into music, which naturally introduced me to a few characters who would later become my early-day muses and collaborators.

It was a buzzing time to be a photographer in London as the clubs scene was in full flight, advertising had budgets and artists had freedom to create.

Fast forward a couple of years, and I got into LCF. Within weeks, I was introduced to Mohieb Dahabieh by one of my new friends, Synika. On day one in a London townhouse studio, I was part of a shoot for Vogue Magazine with Kiera Chaplin, the granddaughter of the legendary comedian and actor.

My interest in fashion came from a different place. For me, it’s always been about playing with light and people, capturing a moment that can hold a viewer’s attention and spark thought. When an image retains meaning to someone, it becomes something special.

There’s something uniquely powerful about fashion, which somehow transitioned to wellness and culture overtime.

What we have now is a hybrid with more and more people committing to the cause, like any loyal religious follower would be expected to.

But wait, look deeper, there’s another layer, if you look close enough, you’ll find a creator, or a faker.

It’s Couture, Darling
